Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say....I have no pleasure in them.

Youth Weekened!!!

1st Annual Vineland Christadelphian Youth Weekend

Please join us from September 14-16, 2007 for a weekend of study, reflection, fellowship and praise.  This gathering is a merger of the former Woodstock Young Peoples’ Gathering and Hamilton Young Peoples’ Gathering.

We are very thankful to our Heavenly Father for the nearly two decades of the Woodstock Gathering and the three years of the Hamilton Gathering.

The theme of this year’s gathering is Victory!

We have an exciting lineup of talks and classes by Bro. Dave Estey of New Jersey and others.

The gathering will be held at Cave Springs Camp, in Vineland, Ontario (30 minutes east of Hamilton).  It is the same site as the past two years of the Hamilton Young Peoples’ Gathering.

The weekend will open with a presentation on Friday night and will conclude after lunch on Sunday.  Creative and inclusive recreational activities are planned for Saturday afternoon and the evenings.

The cost of the weekend per person is $45 Canadian or $40 American.  The minimum age for attending is 13.

If you will be flying in, please let us know in advance so we can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport.  There are two airports which would be appropriate to fly to:  Buffalo Int’l (Buffalo NY), John C. Munro (Hamilton). The Buffalo Int’l is the cheaper airport for Americans to fly into.

To register please send the following information to Bro. Mike Nielsen at vinelandyouthweekend@gmail.com :

-         Name

-         Phone Number

-         Age

Eventful Road Trips

On the many road trips (mostly to Gatherings) I have never really experienced a large standout event. Fortunately each road trip that I have taken was mostly uneventful and had no problems. On this latest road trip down to the Garfield Gathering (which an amazing gathering) we had a VERY eventful road trip (especially on the way down).

The crew from Southern Ontario consisted of Tom and Eric Farrar, Chantal Rivard, Wynonna Smoke and myself. We left from Grimsby at approximately 7 pm- putting us arriving in NJ at a VERY late time. We were in no rush to get down there and so took our time having supper- again pushing our arrival time back.

No real problems happened at the boarder, minus myself having to push my luggage back into the truck because our boarder guard did not want to do so.

The first event of this famous road trip occurred during our second stop to fill up with gas at around 1:30 am somewhere in the middle of NY state. My car pulled out first and waited for Chantal to catch back up. We pulled off to the side of the road when suddenly a cop shove the largest light that I have ever seen at us. We were on our radios and wared Chantal to slow down as they came up the road. We then pulled out in front of them, when the cop also turned on his lights, when around Chantal and pulled me over. When the cop asked me why I thought he pulled me over I responded by "I really have no idea.. Speeding???" To which he replied "No... your front windows have too much tint when compared to your windshield." So what do you want me to do about this??? (I ask in my head). To make matters even worse I couldn’t find the registration to my moms car... He eventually let us go with a warning and said that we should lessen the tint of our windows if we are going to be traveling through NY a lot.

After leaving the scene Eric noted on the radios "not baring any more unforeseen incidents, we should be at NJ at 3:30". No more then 30 minutes later, we came across a car accident. Using my limited knowledge in CPR and first aid, I made sure that none of the people had any more injuries. Everyone was fine, but the cars were totally wreaked. As I explained to them "cars can be replaced, lives can not".

Our last stop before we would arrive at the camp, again caused another funny story. Eric was filling up the gas, when as the credit card was authorizing, the gas started pumped going all over the car, his hands, and the ground. He quickly jammed the nozzle into the tank of the car. Needless to say we all smelled like gas for the rest of the trip.

We FINNALLY arrived at the camp at approximately 3:30 am... With no other problems!

Going home was a little less uneventful. The only notable event was just outside of Buffalo, where a Greyhound Bus had it's wheel come RIGHT off and start to roll down the road, just in front/to our side.

We finally made it back home, after 2 very interesting road trips, a great gathering with lots of amazing fellowship and excellent talks.

Thanks be to God for helping us through this trip.
Hope everyone also had an enjoyable experience at the gathering.
Thanks to the NJ crew for all their efforts for putting on the Gathering

Galatians 3:26-28

26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Love in Christ,
Mike

Shamless plug!

It has been a LONG time since I've updated...I figure I might as well throw in a plug for the Finger lakes gathering which is coming up VERY soon. Hopefully all of you can make it. Here is some information from brother Luke about it... Take care everyone! Love in Christ, Mike

Subject to the LORD’s will, we will be holding our young people’s gathering at the Hidden Valley Campground in Watkins Glen, NY, the weekend of May 11-13, 2007.  The gathering will open with a class at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11th, and we would ask all to arrive before this time.  The theme for the gathering will be centered on the concept of keeping the faith in the last days, and will focus upon the words of the apostle Paul recorded in 1 Corinthians 15:58:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

Brother Keith Sankey from San Antonio, TX will be presenting three classes on Saturday morning, taking a look into some character studies of individuals that kept up the concepts of walk, prophecy, and doctrine. Bro. Mike Nielsen will be presenting an interactive class on how to become involved in your ecclesias on Saturday night.  And on Sunday morning, Bro.Jim Millay will be leading sunday school and the exhortation on remaining steadfast in these last days.

Those planning to attend should bring a sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight, warm clothing, Bible, and a willingness to devote a weekend to Bible study.  The cost for the weekend is $45 (American currency) to be paid at the Gathering.

Young people (we are focusing on ages 13-30), who would like to attend should register with Sister Emily Schlageter via email or phone. Registration is also available online on our new website, which will include further information on the gathering. The Hidden Valley campground can accommodate a large number of visitors, and we welcome as many registrants as are willing to enjoy spiritual fellowship.

We look forward to seeing you, God willing, this spring.

With love in Our Shared Hope,

Brother Luke Ribaudo

Update???

Wow... so its been a LONG time since I have updated. I figured i might as well do a quick update on things.

Our Ontario Winter Youth Weekend (aka Medeba) a few weeks ago was a huge hit. A lot of new ideas for gatherings, that I think most people enjoyed.

This coming weekend is the Youth Summit in NJ. Its going to be a great time. I can't wait. I'll be staying a few extra days since I have the week off.

This coming Saturday is our Sunday School's Entertainment. Our young people will be showing our 3rd annual movie. This year we have done "Samson". I can post pictures after this week from the movie.

I think its really good. Almost (MAYBE) better then the Phantom 1.

Have a very busy week with a lot of editing still to do, and 3 mid-terms. FUN!!!

Talk to everyone soon

Love in Christ,

Mike
